The wool in these calf length socks is lovingly raised in Somerset combining alpaca with British pedigree shetland sheep fleeces to give the alpaca fibre some added bounce and elasticity.

Originating in the Peruvian highlands, alpacas endure high altitudes with temperature changes of -20 degrees to +30 degrees in a single day. Alpaca fibre is extraordinarily light-weight yet holds high insulating properties. It helps regulate temperature, absorbing moisture and allowing skin to breathe. These highly durable socks provide superb comfort and will ensure your feet remain warm yet fresh, requiring very little washing as they wick moisture away, prevent feet from sweating and are anti-bacterial. The low odour properties mean that you won’t need to wash them often too, only once a week or less.

These socks are manufactured by a family run business, owned since 1895 and is run by the fourth generation of the family within the Leicestershire village of Hathern, using both traditional and modern machinery in the Leicestershire factory to create luxury socks that are still practical and comfortable even in the toughest conditions.
