ALPACAS & CONSERVATION EXPERIENCE …
From the Andes to Your Garden — Where Alpacas Bring Conservation to Life
Choose between a small-group or private exclusive experience in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
When you first meet our endearing alpacas you’ll discover how their story is deeply connected to conservation, sustainability, and the natural world around us. During spring and early summer you will also get the opportunity to bottle feed some lambs.

Alpacas and sheep produce the most environmentally friendly and sustainable natural fibres in the world, making them a powerful example of how farming can work in harmony with nature.
We will explore how this story stretches far beyond the field — linking global conservation success with the future of one of Britain’s most loved (and struggling) native species: the humble hedgehog.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet some of the rescued hedgehogs undergoing rehabilitation here. As wild animals, their presence depends on seasonal rescue needs. Hedgehog rehabilitations are most common end May onwards during their breeding season. Their welfare and successful return to the wild always comes first.
Inside our eco-friendly earth roundhouse -hand built from stone, clay, straw and lime- you’ll enjoy an inspiring documentary about the endangered wild alpaca (vicuña) telling one of the most successful conservation projects ever undertaken, offering a hopeful and inspiring vision of how people and nature can thrive together.

This global success story is contrasted with the challenges faced by hedgehogs here in the UK, bringing conservation closer to home and showing how small actions in our own gardens can make a real difference.

You are welcome to bring snacks or a picnic to enjoy during the film and there will be other activities available for younger children.
We hope this experience will be both enjoyable and inspiring — offering not only a memorable visit, but a sense of hope for the future and the role we can all play in protecting it.

BRONZE We have a non-walker spectator fee available costing £10 for people who don’t want to come into the field with the alpacas, but can watch with a hot drink from the comfort of our heated gazebo. Usually part of a paying group. This is subject to availability as silver, gold and platinum visitors will be prioritised as we have limited space.
JUNIOR Under 14ʼs are £10 silver and bronze and £15 gold and platinum, if attending the Gold or Platinum they must walk and attend with one paying adult adult per child for health and safety reasons.
Please note that for Spring/Summer 2026, we will not be offering our standard walking experiences whilst we focus on developing and enhancing our environmental initiatives.
SILVER STANDARD For £20 per adult, a meet and greet alpaca experience with up to 8 people lasting between 1-1.5 hours followed by a hot drink in our gazebo. Minimum booking 2 adults
GOLD STANDARD Our most popular experience. An all inclusive introduction to alpacas where you meet, feed and find out all about alpacas, walk them, get some selfies and then have a chance to feel and find out about different types of fibre. You may also bring a picnic to enjoy with the alpacas. This 2-3 hour long experience costs £40 per adult (14 and over) and we require a minimum of 2 adults per booking to run an experience as alpacas don’t like to walk alone. Our maximum for a party booking is usually 6 people. This is what is referred to as a standard experience booking if purchasing a gift voucher online.
PLATINUM STANDARD The same in-depth experience for alpaca lovers as the gold, but offers a totally exclusive alpaca experience at £55 per person where you will be the only visitors. Minimum booking 2 adults
