Cadbury Alpacas are proud to announce that they are now selling premium alpaca diabetic socks for men and women to help keep feet warm, dry and fresh and helping to prevent many of the complications that people who have diabetes can suffer from.
Our zero pressure therapeutic soft topped socks contain:
- 40% baby alpaca
- 25% tencel
- 25% nylon
- 7% elastic
- 3% spandex
Alpaca fibre is the perfect material to include in diabetic socks as it has hollow fibres which help keep feet warm in winter and cool in summer. Alpaca fibre is also breathable and helps to wick moisture away from the feet to help keep them dry, reducing the chance of infections. It is also lanolin free and hypo-allergenic so perfect for any diabetics with allergies or sensitivities.
What are diabetic socks?
Diabetic socks are made of soft and usually seamless material with low elastic soft tops so that they do not grip the leg and restrict circulation or cause irritation and sores. Our socks are also extra padded for comfort, have a reinforced heel and toe and are easy to pull on and off.
Are compression socks the same as diabetic socks?
No, diabetic compression socks are naturally quite tight and firmer fitting and are used to reduce swelling and help increase blood flow. Our socks have an ultra low compression relaxed elastic soft top to keep them in place for maximum comfort.
What are diabetic socks used for?
Diabetic socks are worn to be gentle on the skin with tops that won’t compress the legs or ankles. They help reduce friction which can prevent blisters, ulcers and infections. They usually also have extra padding for comfort as well as being made of materials that can keep feet at a suitable temperature to encourage blood flow and circulation.
Can anyone wear diabetic socks?
Anyone who is prone to blisters, ulcers, irritation or fungal infections of the feet could benefit from wearing a pair of our socks as would anyone who notices a change of the colour or temperature of their feet.
What sizes are your Socks available in?
We sell a full range of sizes of socks to suit both women and men: Small (2 – 4.5), Medium (5 – 7.5), Large (8 – 10.5) and Extra Large (11 – 13.5).
